VVMusic were invited to the launch of Channel 4's Generation Next Season which runs throughout August on C4. It was an opportunity for the next generation of creative talent to meet up and talk business with todays top filmakers and producers. Head of Channel 4, Kevin Lygo, spoke about the scheme and the channels wish to encourage and attract new talent. We saw fellow 4talent winning filmaker Vicki Psarias and Illustrator, Petra Stefankova. It was great to meet up with the 4Talent team again aswell as meeting some interesting new contacts.
Over four weeks there are loads of shows to watch from the best new writers, directors and onscreen talent across comedy, drama, documentaries and news.
Film4 will also be screening a short season of films highlighting new directors, particularly those identified with mumblecore - young directors shooting fast, low-budget films, often on digital cameras and arranging their own distribution. There's a real emphasis on finding future favourites at FrightFest too.
